Think of a Nag

Well our Dislexic pages are being rehashed. Christine puts in the dots and commas and Terry puts in the spaces. I just nag them both.

But think of nag…………an old horse or a person who goes on, and on, and on…..

…..and from my postbag, how about those famous names that have entered our vocabulary and become nouns

Cardigan, Raglan, Hoover, Kellogs, Sam Browne, Wellingtons and Balaclava, do you know all their origins? Let me know if you don’t, or can add some. Is there a fancy name for such words?

How about, the other day Profit-a Rolls, you know, the small squidgy chocolate filled deserts, that one could eat in the desert, that are made from schoux pastry, which has nothing to do with footwear.

And have you ever thought about the word How? An Indian greeting, they say. A question also. We use it in “How do you do”, not really any longer a question, and also “How are you”, which still is a question, and to which we often receive an answer. But how about “How kind of you”, the how here is neither greeting nor question but a statement or measurement of kindness.

And Catholics pronounced by the Irish often sounds cat licks. The cat licks the Catholics.

And Moron and more on. Heap more on the moron and send him away.

And away with the anchors, I must go……………… aweigh
